Fahim resents inclusion of old faces in cabinet

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Sept 1: The Alliance for Restoration of Democracy chairman, Makhdoom Amin Fahim, has said the new cabinet will fail to deliver because it included the same old people involved in 'corruption'.

In a statement on Wednesday, Mr Fahim said Zafarullah Jamali, Chaudhry Shujaat and Shaukat Aziz as prime ministers were in fact continuation of military regime "that had been a source of disappointment for the people of Pakistan and this situation would persist".

He said the new cabinet reflected the fact that there would be no change in the lives of the poor and the downtrodden, and masses would continue to suffer. Mr Fahim said tall claims were made about the new prime minister and cabinet, but the hollow claims of good governance had been exposed with the inclusion of the people wanted by NAB in the cabinet.

He said the regime did not have the courage to show the oath-taking ceremony live on television because the people were tired of old faces. The change means nothing more than old wine in a new bottle, he observed.
