KARACHI, Sept 1: The police on Wednesday morning killed a bandit in an encounter and arrested his two accomplices in Gadap. Police said three armed suspects barged into a house in Deh Mohammad goth in Gadap.
Someone from the neighbourhood informed the police on 15. A police party reached the spot and an exchange of fire took place.
Police said one of the suspects, identified as Abdul Rasheed, 35, died in the encounter. Police arrested his two accomplices - Khan Mohammad and Noor Mohammad - and recovered two AK-47 rifles and a TT pistol.
On interrogation, the police recovered 10 drums of country-made liquor from the house of Khan Mohammad. Police said the deceased had six different cases registered against him in the Gadap police station alone.
In another encounter near Hasan Square on Tuesday night, a kidnapper was killed and his associate arrested after an exchange of fire. Police said Mohammad Sadiq was going in his car with his two children when two armed suspects kidnapped the children at gunpoint and escaped in the vehicle after dropping Mr Sadiq.
As the suspects reached the Hasan Square, a police party tried to intercept the suspects. The suspects opened fire on the police after which an exchange of fire ensued.
One of the suspects identified as Imran Talib died in the firing while his accomplice identified as Sharif was arrested by the police. Police said that on interrogation of the suspect four motorcycles and eight cars were recovered upon his disclosure.
ARREST: A suspect was arrested red-handed while he was receiving ransom in Nabi Bux area on Wednesday. Police with the help of Citizen-Police Liaison Committee laid a trap and arrested Syed Tahir Bukhari. The suspect was booked in FIR 109/04.
The arrest came into effect after an automobile dealer Imran lodged a complaint with the CPLC that he was receiving threats. He arranged a meeting with the suspect and as he was giving the ransom amount, the police and CPLC officials nabbed the suspect.
ACCIDENTS: Two persons died in a road accident in Baloch Colony on Wednesday. Police said that Arif was on his motorcycle when a speeding truck hit him and an unknown pedestrian. Arif died on the spot while unknown victim died on way to the hospital. The errant truck escaped from the spot. Victim was a resident of Landhi.
In SITE, a young man died in a hit and run accident near Vita Chowrangi. Police said Nauroz Khan was on his motorcycle when a speeding truck hit him. Abdul Karim who was the pillion rider was also injured in the accident.
BOY RECOVERED: A boy who was kidnapped by unknown persons in Karachi on Aug 25 has been recovered from Balochistan. Police have arrested three alleged kidnappers, and recovered Farhan Farooq from Shadi Pishgaan village.
One of the kidnappers belongs to Karachi while two others have been arrested from Balochistan. The police investigated the case and picked up Pir Mohammad alias Piroo in Jackson. He led the police to Balochistan from where the police arrested two alleged kidnappers Saddam Hussain and Naeem Baloch.
