NA speaker meets MQM leaders

KARACHI, Aug 31: National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain and Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain said on Tuesday that demands of all the provinces should be addressed to strengthen national unity.

According to a press release, they said it was necessary to discuss and debate grievances of the provinces to find political solution to problems in the interest of national unity.

The meeting between Chaudhry Amir Hussain and Mr Altaf Hussain took place at MQM's international secretariat in London. MQM leaders, including Tariq Javed, M. Anwer and Tariq Mir, attended the meeting.

They said that President Gen Pervez Musharraf by taking correct and intelligent decisions had saved the country which was facing a severe crisis following the Sept 11 incident. They said that in the present situation it was necessary for the country to have strong president and prime minister.
