Australia beat Pakistan

AMSTERDAM, Aug 28: Part-time bowlers Darren Lehmann and Andrew Symonds took two wickets apiece as Australia edged out Pakistan by 17 runs in the final of the triangular tournament in Amstelveen on Saturday.

None of Pakistan's batsmen made a half century, Yousuf Youhana top scoring with 43, and they were bowled out for 175 with 17 balls remaining.

Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar had earlier snapped up three wickets to restrict Australia to 192 for seven in their 50 overs.

Shoaib dismissed top scorer Matthew Hayden for 59 before removing Symonds (36) and Michael Clarke (one) to finish with three for 40 as the world champions laboured on a difficult pitch.-Reuters
