LARKANA, Aug 28: Different political and social welfare organizations took out a procession in Shahdadkot on Saturday to protest against kidnapping of a boy, Kapil, in Karachi.

Seth Bhawandas, brother of MNA Ramesh Lal, led the procession that reached at the Koto-Moto Chowk after marching through main roads of the town.

Speaking on the occasion, Mir Ishaq Mughiri, Rajal Das, Naib Nazim Haroon Soomoro and others termed the kidnapping of Kapil a conspiracy against members of the scheduled caste.

They warned that they would widen the scope of their protest if the government did not take a notice of such incidents.

Students in the area also boycotted their classes and held a protest demonstration against the kidnapping of the boy.

At least 200 people observed a token hunger strike in Shahdadkot, demanding release of Kapil.

MEETING: Leaders of the Hindu community from Larkana, Sukkur, Shikarpur and Jacobabad demanded that the government should take steps to end the growing sense of insecurity prevailing among the community members.

At a meeting held at Dharamshala here on Friday under the chairmanship of Lekhraj, acting president of the of District Hindu Panchayat, the leaders expressed concern over the kidnapping of trader Santosh Kumar in Larkana and Kapil in Karachi, and an attack on Dr Tekchand in Thano Bola Khan.

The Panchayat demanded the president, prime minister and the Sindh chief minister should ensure recovery of the hostages.
