By Our Staff Correspondent

FAISALABAD, Aug 28: Different trade and industrialist bodies have demanded of the Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, to convene a joint meeting of the trade bodies to consider ways and means for further improvement of the economy , boosting the exports and formulate viable and lasting policies.

In separate statements here on Saturday, FDPT chairman Shahzad Ali, FCCI president Mian Aftab Ahmad, PTEA Chairman Ahmad Kamal, renowned industrialists Mian Jawed Anwar, Mian Muhammad Latif, Mushtaq Ali Cheema MNA, Sheikh Mukhtar Ahmed, Fahim Mehmood Shah, Tasadduq Rasool, Faiq Jawed and others facilitated Shaukat Aziz as Prime Minister.

They said election of Shaukat Aziz to the office of Prime Minister would provide him free hand and wider manoeuvrability to implement his agenda of economic policies as also enable him to oversee full implementation of his policies.

They pointed out that the way Shaukat Aziz has managed to pull the country back from the brink of disaster and bankruptcy and put the economy on the track of progress was highly commendable. What was most appreciable and miraculous was the fact that this reversal of situation was achieved in a very short span of four to five years, he said.

They suggested that elected representatives of various trade bodies and top entrepreneurs should be assigned the task to explore new world markets. They also suggested that the government should restore the "Friendly Investment Environment" to attract the local and foreign investors to start the joint ventures in Pakistan, which were must for creating ample job opportunities and boosting the industrial production.
