SADIQABAD: Crackdown on water thieves pledged

By Our Correspondent

SADIQABAD, Aug 27: The irrigation authorities in the district have devised a proper strategy to detect water thefts by forming committees at the sub-divisional level.

This was stated by irrigation XEN Abdul Qadeer Javed while talking to newsmen on Friday. He said the step would ensure provision of water to tail-ends. He said the committees comprised Nazims and landlords, who would monitor the water distribution. Those caught stealing water would be brought to book, he said.
