Setback for Bangladesh

DHAKA, Aug 24: Bangladesh captain and leading batsman Habibul Basher will miss next month's ICC Champions Trophy because of a broken finger, a board official said on Tuesday. "Bashar is not going. We will decide who will lead Bangladesh in the tournament on Wednesday, ahead of the team's departure for London on Thursday."

Middle order batsman Faisal Hossain, who was dropped from the team earlier this month, has been recalled as Bashar's replacement, Chowdhury added. Bangladesh play their first game in the Champions Trophy, which is popularly known as the 'mini world cup', against South Africa at Edgbaston on Sep 12.
