LAHORE, Aug 24: Punjab PML Secretary-General Chaudhry Zaheerudin said on Tuesday that he would ensure action on the instructions issued from the Muslim League House with regard to solution to people's problems.
In a statement here, he said no laxity would be tolerated on the part of a government functionary. Mr Zaheerudin would be present in the Muslim League House on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to personally listen to the problems of party workers and discuss party matters. He would devote more time for the purpose if his engagements as minister for communications allowed him to do so.
He has directed the relevant quarters to set up a committee to look into the complaints of people coming to him. He would issue necessary instructions on the complaints in the light of recommendations made by the committee. And once orders are passed, he would make certain that they are implemented in letter and spirit.
Mr Zaheer said President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shujaat Husain and Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi were very serious in solving problems of the common man, and they would judge the performance of a department on the basis of complaints.
The minister told Dawn that the open courts held in the Muslim League House, which had been suspended for some time, would start working soon. At least a couple of such courts would be held every month, he said.
He said he would submit a plan to the party and the chief minister and follow their decision on the subject. The level at which such courts would be held, their frequency and venue would be decided by the chief minister and the party, the PML secretary-general said.
