Indian TV crew attacked in Kuwait

By Our Correspondent

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 23: The crew of an Indian TV channel in Kuwait recently came under attack by some unidentified men who attacked their vehicle and then stole their equipment and other belongings.

According to a local newspaper, the Indian TV channel Aaj Tak crew was in Kuwait to cover the kidnapping of three Indian truckers in Iraq last month. The incident happened on Friday when the three-man crew had gone to interview some employees of the local company.

The crew was chased by unidentified men who repeatedly rammed their vehicle into the vehicle the journalists were driving. The Delhi-based journalist Deepak Sharma told the newsmen that one of the attackers drove off in his car which contained the TV channel's equipment worth KD 5,000.

Sharma said the Indian embassy officials in Kuwait are following up the case, adding he couldn't figure out why the unidentified men targeted him. Police are still investigating the motive for the crime.
