CBR directive

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Aug 23: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has directed all the collectorates not to issue public notice and standing orders. The decision was taken through a customs general order no. 9 of 2004 released here on Monday.

It has been observed that collectorates issue public notice and standing orders for facilitation, clarification, standardization of procedures etc. However, due to divergent practices and orders issued by the collectorates on the same issue, uniformity as envisaged under the revised Kyoto Convention was not being attained at all the customs stations.

It was decided that in case of a need in future, a draft of public notice or standing order will be sent to the CBR for further necessary action, added the order.
