KARACHI: Man shot dead

KARACHI, Aug 21: A man was shot dead in Mauripur by unidentified gunmen on Saturday. Police said the man, in his mid thirties, suffered two bullets, in his chest and head, and died instantaneously at 500-quarters area on Hawkesbay road. His body was shifted to Civil Hospital for autopsy where his identity could not be established immediately.

WOUNDED: A girl was shot and wounded outside her home in New Karachi on Saturday.

Police said Ruby Samreen, 19, was hit by a stray bullet outside her home in Sector 5-E, New Karachi. She was taken to a hospital where her condition was stated to be out of danger.

BODIES RECOVERED: The body of one of the two youths, who had drowned on Friday evening, was recovered from sea at Sandspit on Saturday.

Officials of the rescue centre of the fire brigade department said that the body of Amir Junejo, 19, was recovered.

Mansoor Shaikh, 18, and Amir were swept away by strong currents on Friday evening. They were residents of Shershah.

ARRESTS: Police arrested two men, Osman and Sajid, for their alleged involvement in robberies and recovered two TT pistols and a motorcycle from them.

SHO Gulistan-i-Jauhar said they were involved in robberies.
