KARACHI: Young man found shot dead

KARACHI, Aug 17: The body of an unidentified young man was recovered from a garbage dump in North Nazimabad on Tuesday morning. Police said that the body was found from the garbage dump located near the Zaheer Public School in Block-H, North Nazimabad, around 6am.

The victim was wearing shirt and trousers and had a bullet wound on his throat, the police added. The police took the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy, from where it was shifted to the Edhi morgue for identification.

DIES: A security guard died due to accidental firing from his service rifle in Malir Cantt on Tuesday. Police said that the guard, Asad, was on his duty outside a shop when his rifle went off accidentally. He was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

SHOT DEAD: A property dealer was shot dead by unknown persons in New Karachi on late Tuesday in his Alto car. Police said that Latif was going on his car when unknown persons opened fire at him near Al-Mustafa petrol pump. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

INJURED: A young man was shot at by armed suspects when he tried to resist a dacoity in Mithadar area on Tuesday. Police said that Mohammad Anwer, along with his cousin Zainul Abdin, had withdrawn cash of Rs500,000 from the AG Zurich branch at Tower.

When they were returning from the bank in a car (U-8597), two men on a motorcycle intercepted them, who snatched Rs300,000 from them and escaped after firing at Anwar.
