Mangoes prospects in China bright

BEIJING, Aug 13: Pakistan has hoped that it will export a big quantity of mangoes to China from next season. "We have made an initial breakthrough to introduce Pakistan's food products in the local market, said Ambassador Riaz Mohammad Khan.

Addressing a mangoes' promotion campaign ceremony here on Friday, the ambassador expressed the hope that Pakistani mango, known world wide for their rich taste, flavour and fragrance, would also be received well by the Chinese consumers.

"This time, we brought mango to China little late nearly end of the season, but next year we will come here in a big way," he added. The Chinese government issued the quarantine certificate, allowing its import last month, after fulfilling necessary legal requirements. -APP
