QUETTA: Nazim denies he sought army action

By Amanullah Kasi

QUETTA, Aug 12: The District Nazim of Kech, Mir Maula Bakhsh Dashti, has denied a claim made by the Balochistan chief minister who told newsmen on Tuesday that the military action in Makran district had been launched on the request of the district government of Kech and Gwadar.

Speaking at a press conference at the Turbat press club on Thursday he contradicted the assertion of the Balochistan chief minister that the search operation was carried out in Makran at his behest.

The district nazim clarified that he was not informed when the military action was carried out, and if Chief Minister Jam Muhammad Yousuf failed to clarify the real situation then he would quit from the post of district nazim.

Flanked by his Naib Nazim Naseem Jungian the district nazim declared that he was a political worker and during his life he had struggled for the democratic political and economic rights of the people of Balochistan. Maula Dashti is affiliated with the National Party.
