Duty drawback rates lowered

ISLAMABAD, Aug 11: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has scaled down the rate of duty drawback on export of leather products. According to the customs notification issued on Wednesday, the new rate will be effective from August 11, 2004.

The new duty drawback rate will be 2.27 per cent of the fob value on export of lambs or sheep skin finished leather with hair on double face and 1.60 per cent of the fob value on lamb or sheep skin crust or dyed crust leather with hair on swade.

Meanwhile, the tax authorities has also revised downward the rate of duty drawback on export of polypropylene which would be effective from August 11.

The duty drawback rate will be Rs0.63 per 100 lbs on export of polypropylene used in the packing of blended or cotton yarn being packed in pallet packing wounded on cones per 100 lbs yarn.
