KARACHI: Uplift projects initiated in Orangi


KARACHI, Aug 10: A number of development projects have been initiated in the province, specially in the Orangi Town area, says Manzoor Hussain Shah, advisor to the chief minister for public affairs.

He was speaking at an open kutchehry held in Orangi Town on Tuesday. He urged the government officials to work hard and ensure timely completion of these projects, he said that the chief minister was deeply interested in the progress of development projects in the province, adding that he was being informed about the day-to-day progress in this regard.

The people, he said, should cooperate with the government to eliminate anti-social elements, adding that another open kutchehry would be held in the Orangi Town after two months in which representatives of the civic departments would be held accountable.

Members of the provincial assembly, who were present on the occasion, said that water supply projects were underway, adding that completion of these projects would go a long way to solve a long standing problem of the area. TMO Orangi Town Qamar Ahmed, Nazim Feroz Ahmed and other officials of public utilities were also present on the occasion. -PPI
