Revised fourth schedule

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Aug 10: The Revised Fourth Schedule to the Companies Ordinance, 1984, is not applicable to the listed companies whose financial year closed on or before June 30, 2004, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan stated here on Tuesday.

The revised schedule, laying down the disclosure requirements for the balance sheet and profit-and-loss account of listed companies, had been notified by the commission on July 5, 2004.

At the same time, it had directed all listed companies whose financial year closes on or after the notification date (5-7-2004) to prepare their annual financial statements in accordance with the revised fourth schedule.

The SECP, however, received many queries on its applicability to the companies whose financial year already closed on or before June 30, 2004. It has now clarified that the revised schedule does not apply to them.
