Govt accused of pre-poll rigging

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Aug 9: Three members of Pakistan People's Party's election cell have lodged complaints with the Chief Election Commissioner over alleged misappropriation being committed by the ruling party and its candidate in NA-229 (Tharparkar) before the by-election.

In one of the letters, MNA Fauzia Wahab said that after a visit by the PPP candidate for campaigning, a teacher was placed under suspension by the Sindh government.

Lal Bux Bhutto alleged that 50 workers of the party were attacked by supporters of Shaukat Aziz when they were returning from a corner meeting of PPP candidate in Sobara Goth. He said no case was registered by the authorities against the attackers.
