Senate session requisitioned

ISLAMABAD, Aug 7: The opposition on Saturday submitted a requisition notice to the Senate Secretariat to convene a session of the upper house to discuss law and order situation in the country.

The notice was submitted by parliamentary secretary of the Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD) Izhar Amrohvi under Article 61 read with Article 54 of the Constitution.

Under the law, Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro is bound to summon the session within 14 days after receiving the notice. Mr Amrohvi said the requisition notice had been signed by 20 members.
