Talks encouraging, says FO
ISLAMABAD, Aug 7: Foreign Office Spokesman Masood Khan on Saturday described the outcome of Pakistan-India composite dialogue as encouraging and a good step forward.
"The officials have talked about disengagement and redeployment of troops from their current positions in Siachin, which is a step forward in the right direction," he told a private TV channel.
Pakistan wants to demilitarize the Siachin zone. Civil society and international community was also extending their fullest support in favour of Pakistan, Mr Khan said.
Replying to a question, he said the composite dialogues "have gone a step ahead."
He said both the countries "have expressed their point of view on different issues confronting them. It's a continuous process." -APP
