Condition for duty exemption goes

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Aug 7: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has done away with the condition of installation certificate for availing duty exemption on import of conversion kits and cylinders.

The decision was taken through a customs notification issued on Saturday by amending the SRO38 of 1998. The amendment will be effective retrospectively from January 21, 1998, added the notification.

The decision will facilitate the common people, who were not in a position to produce a installation certificate to the customs officials.

Through another customs notification by amending the SRO38 of 1998, the CBR allowed import of four other types of compressors - Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company, USA of model CP839 HP; M/s Delta Compression S.r.1, (Aspro GNC), Aregntina of model IO DM 115-5-4R; M/s Delta Compressions s.r.1 Argentina of model AS-120-S1 2000, AS120D-AC and Everest Kanto Cylinder (EKC) Industries, Dubai of model NZ-5454-1989, respectively.
