ISLAMABAD, Aug 6: A panel of 19 referees has been named for the upcoming World Junior Squash Championship. Faheem Gul of Pakistan is the chief referee while one referee each is from Britain, Holland, Hong Kong and Kuwait and the rest from the host country.

The referee from Britain is Peter Lawrence while those from Holland, Hong Kong and Kuwait are Ian Cherington, Muhammad Fayyaz and Muhammad H. Al Jazza. The rest of the referees Tahir Jamil Khanzada, Ayaz Khan, Mehboob Khan, Zarak Jehan Khan, Munawar Zaman, Yawar Islam, Sajjad Ahmad, Pervaiz Ali, Azhar Hussain, Mushtaq Ahmed, Abdul Wali Khan, Muhammad Hanif, Qasim Khan and Abd ul Qadir are all from Pakistan.

Meanwhile, World Squash Federation will hold its two-day Management committee meeting here from Aug 14. President of World Squash Federation (WSF), Jahangir Khan, will chair the meeting to be held just before the World Junior Squash Championship commencing from Aug 17.

Also to attend the management committee meeting will be the two vice presidents of WSF, Joyce Buckley and A. Sani Karim, and executive assistant Lorraine Harding. Players from 22 countries will participate in the boys individual and team events of the World Junior Squash Championship with the host country to defend its team title.

These players will be from Pakistan, Australia, Austria, Canada, Egypt, England, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Ireland, Kenya, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland, Singapore, Switzerland, USA, Wales and Zimbabwe.

The Pakistan squad comprises Khalid Atlas, Farhan Mehboob, Yasir Butt, Basit Ashfaq, Aamir Atlas Khan, Aquib Hanif, Bilal Zaman and Shah Nawaz. Rehmat Khan will be the coach. -APP
