SIALKOT: Two Tos fail to deliver

Published August 7, 2004

SIALKOT, Aug 6: The Sialkot tehsil Nazim has expressed grave concern over the poor performance of tehsil officer (planning) and buildings inspector.

At a TMA meeting here on Friday, Nazim Akmal Cheema said due to their negligence and malpractice, illegal construction of houses, shops and trade centres was going on in the city and its adjoining areas.

People did not pay prescribed fee for approval of construction plan and commercialization of their plots as a result of which the TMA was suffering financial loss, he added.

He recommended to the Punjab government to take stern action against the officials. Mr Cheema also expressed grave concern over slow pace of construction works on various development schemes being carried out by the TMA's engineering wing. He took serious notice of the situation and ordered cancellation of licences of 29 contractors with immediate effect.

LABOUR COLONY: Sialkot district Nazim Mian Naeem Javaid will give away keys of houses to the allottees in newly constructed labour colony in a special ceremony to be held at Anwar Club Auditorium on Saturday (today) at 10:30am.
