KARACHI: Two boys die in accidents

KARACHI, Aug 6: Two boys died and two others were injured in separate road accidents in different parts of the city on Friday. According to police, a 12-year-old boy died and his two cousins were injured when a speeding truck hit them in Lyari.

Police said that Shahbaz, 12, Bilal, 15 and Owais, 17, were on a motorcycle when a water tanker hit them near Kumarwara within the limits of Kalakot police station. Police arrested the tanker driver and impounded the vehicle.

The boys were taken to the Civil Hospital, where Shahbaz was pronounced dead. His two cousins were provided treatment at the hospital. A pedestrian was knocked down to death near PIDC House.

Police said that Mohammad Akram, 17, was crossing the road when a speeding truck hit him. Police arrested the truck driver, Jehangir, and shifted the boy's body to JPMC.

KILLED: A man was shot dead in Liaquatabad on Friday. According to area police, some armed men shot at Mohammad Aslam, 40, near Mustafa Masjid in Azamnagar. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

In Baldia Town, a man was killed after being kidnapped on Thursday night. Police said that Mohammad Amin, 40, was returning from a tomb in Baldia when he was kidnapped. On Friday morning, his bullet- riddled body was found from a deserted place in Baldia.
