KARACHI, Aug 6: The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan and the Royal College of England have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, under which the two institutions will cooperate with each other in the development of surgical education.

The MoU was signed, on behalf of the CPSP, by Prof Sultan Farooqui and, on behalf of the RCS, by Sir Peter Morris, says a handout. The two colleges would collaborate in staff development and training for teachers or supervisors of surgical trainees; promote research and wherever appropriate exchange academic, technical and administrative staff in support of distance learning, skill teaching and training for teacher and supervisors of trainees.

Academic programmes were also proposed to be developed under the agreement. The CPSP and RCS would promote such other forms of cooperation as the two colleges might jointly agree. They would also review the progress in the agreed areas of cooperation from time to time.
