KARACHI, Aug 5: Chief of his faction of the Pakistan Muslim League Pir Pagara has declared that he has nothing against provincial Revenue Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, the recently appointed Secretary General of the Sindh chapter of the unified PML.
Pir Pagara made this statement while talking to a group of newsmen after his meeting with Mr Shaikh, who called on him at the Kingri House here on Thursday. Pir Saheb clarified that his differences were with the leadership of 'Shujaat League' with which he had already parted ways and maintained no links whatsoever.
On his part, Mr Shaikh said that he had been visiting Pir Saheb in the past as well and today again, he had called on him to seek his blessings and guidence. "Pir Pagara is my elder and a spiritual leader for whom I have great regard," he added.
Expressing gratitude to the Pir Saheb for sparing time for the meeting, Mr Shaikh termed the meeting 'positive' which, he said, was held in a good atmosphere.
BD DY HC: Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Hannan called on veteran Muslim League leader Pir Pagara and exchanged views with him on bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
During the meeting, Pir Sahib took up the matter of stranded Pakistanis in Bangladesh. The deputy high commissioner said that Bangladesh and Pakistan were two brotherly countries and could resolve their disputes through mutual consultation.
Extending an invitation to Pir Pagara to visit Bangladesh, he said that according to a Bangladesh-India study, the Sunderband forest had about 500 tigers. Although there were strict laws protecting wildlife, hunting of some species was allowed with government permission.
Pir Pagara said he had visited the region thrice when the country was called East Pakistan. The BD diplomat said that his county was producing 95 per cent of the medicines the country consumed and had developed institutions of higher education and made good progress in the industrial sector.
