KARACHI: Coronary unit at Valika hospital


KARACHI, Aug 5: The Sindh minister for Labour, Transport, Industries and chairman, governing body, Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (SESSI), Mohammad Adil Siddiqui on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of medical superintendent of Kulsoom Bai Valika Social Security SITE Hospital.

Inaugurating the Coronary Care Unit and the ground breaking ceremony of the Neurology Department at the hospital, he warned officials that no favouritism or nepotism would be acceptable. He also directed an improvement in the hospital affairs.

"I have come to know that stray dogs are often seen on hospital premises, besides complaints of poor performance of the administration. Doctors and paramedical staff must behave in a respectable way with patients."

The minister directed medical advisor, SESSI Dr Haseeb Qureshi to cancel the contract with the Hamdard Medical College within three days, since they had failed to fulfil their commitment. Commissioner SESSI Gul Mohammad Rind said the hospital staff was making efforts to improve facilities. - PPI
