SUKKUR, July 31: A man was axed to death while his wife and granddaughter were kidnapped by armed men in Tri-Ghati village near the city on Friday.

Usman alias Arbab, son of Allah Dino Katpar, along with his wife and granddaughter, was returning to his village on a donkey- cart when he was attacked with hatchets. He died on the spot.

Later, the assailants kidnapped his wife Gullan and granddaughter Arifa.

Hundreds of villagers blocked the Rohri-Salehpat road in protest against the incident.

They said a son of deceased Usman was also killed some time back.

KIDNAPPED: Two shopkeepers were kidnapped by armed men in Rano village in the limits of Dodapur police station near Garhi Khairo on Thursday night.

Arbelo Odho, 23, and Sadiq Odho, 20, were on their way to home after closing their shops when four bandits kidnapped them.
