ISLAMABAD, July 28: Faisal Zaman and Shah Nawaz made quick work of their opponents in the under-19 category of the Hashim Khan National junior squash championship on Wednesday to advance to the next round.

In matches played at the Roshan Khan Complex, Faisal of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) knocked out Punjab's Ali Hassan 9-1, 10-9, 9-1 with ease. Shah Nawaz, a Punjab player, quickly dispatched Obaid Jehan from Balochistan 9-2, 9-5, 9-2 in another match.

Others who scored victories on Wednesday were Amir Atlas, Adil Atlas, Sajid Khan and Bilal Zaman. Haider Jamal and Aaqib Hanif also moved ahead. In the under-17 age bracket, Farzan Rashid had it easy against Wasif Tufail winning 9-1, 9-0, 9-3 and it wasn't too tough for Sindh's Muhammad Naeem who defeated Basit Samad 9-3, 9- 3, 9-3.

The girls under-19 event saw all the top players score comfortable wins, among them Maria Toor, Misbah Rani, Sara Awan and Muqaddas Ashraf.
