KARACHI, July 10: A policeman was shot at and wounded in Defence Housing Society. According to police, two men on a motorcycle shot at head constable Raja Hameed, 29, and fled. He was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Doctors said that he had suffered a minor bullet wound to his left arm. He was discharged from the hospital after treatment.

Police said that Head Constable Raja Hameed of special branch was posted at Airport Police Station.

In Punjab Colony, a woman was wounded when a pistol, she was cleansing, went off at her home in Punjab Colony.

Police said that Hasina, 40, was cleansing the pistol of her husband, Shakeel, when it abruptly went off, piercing a bullet to her chest. She was taken to JPMC, where her condition was stated to be serious.

ARRESTED: Police foiled an attempt of robbery in Baldia Town and arrested one robber.

SHO Sarfaraz Tanoli said that three bandits entered a shop of Hayatullah Khan in Rasheedabad and started looting cash and valuables.

In the meantime, somebody called Madadgar 15 and narrated the incident. Police reached at the shop immediately and nabbed one of the robbers, Gul Khan.

However, the two other robbers managed to flee. Police said that Gul Khan was a resident of Nazimabad.
