LAHORE, July 7: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education on Wednesday declared the results of secondary school annual examination Part-I (Class-IX) for 2004.
As the results are based on no-fail no-pass policy, the board has mentioned marks obtained by the candidates against their roll numbers and names in the gazette. According to a notification, around 160,868 candidates applied for the examination, out of whom 159,875 appeared in full subjects. Some 993 candidates remained absent.
According to a group-wise breakdown, nearly 52,637 candidates applied for science group examination as regular candidates, out of whom 52,413 appeared in full subjects while 224 remained absent. Similarly, 29,737 candidates applied for science group examination as private candidates.
Of them, 29,517 appeared in full subjects while 220 remained absent. In general group, 44,811 candidates applied as regular candidates, out of whom 44,555 appeared in full subjects while 256 remained absent. As many as 33,683 candidates applied as private candidates. Of them, 33,390 appeared in full subjects while 293 others remained absent.
The notification says the candidates, against whose roll numbers and names, abbreviations of certain subject(s) have been mentioned, remained absent in the subject(s). They are eligible for appearing in these subject(s) with the secondary school certificate Part-II (Class-X) annual examination to be held in 2005.
