PCB's double standards on suspect actions

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, June 21: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on the one hand is repeatedly advising umpires to be vigilant of bowlers with suspect actions , while on the other its selectors are selecting players for the national and 'A' training camps who had been reported for chucking.

Riaz Afridi is the latest glaring example of this irregularity as the medium-pacer has been selected for the national training camp for the Asia Cup. The PCB chairman had recently instructed all national umpires to closely monitor the bowling action of Riaz along with Shoaib Akhtar, Shabbir Ahmad and Junaid Zia in domestic cricket.

Junaid has been selected as one of the Pakistan 'A' probables for the tour of Kenya next month.
