QUETTA, June 20: National Party leaders have blamed the government for it intransigent attitude that has plunged the country into a political crisis, instability and lawlessness.

Speaking at a public meeting on Saturday night in Mungochar on the eve of the third death anniversary of Mir Abdul Khaliq Langoo, the speakers stressed that proposals suggested by smaller provinces in the NFC deliberations for distribution of resources should be accepted.

Haji Haider Khan Langoo chaired the meeting. Dr Hayee Baloch, MPA Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, Mir Hasil Bizenjo and MPA Rehmat Ali Baloch were among the speakers. Chief of the National Party Hayee Baloch stated that the rulers should not insist on development projects that were unacceptable to the Balochs and maintained that they were not against uplift programme if they did not harm the interest of the Baloch people.

He said that the distribution of resources in the new NFC award should be based on area, backwardness, revenue collection plus population adding that the existing formula of distribution solely on the basis of population was against the interests of the smaller federating units.

MPA and senior vice president of NP Sardar Sanaullah Zehri warned that ruler's anti-Baloch agenda would not be workable because to impose development projects from above would invite destruction that would not be in the interest of the country.

He said that Baloch is were opposing the mega projects as that uplift programme would turn them into a minority and such progress that was carried out at the cost of Baloch is would be resisted with all means.

Secretary General of the party Mir Hasil Bizenjo said that usurpers during the last five decades have been responsible for depriving the local population of their national rights and that the oppressors were attempting to subdue their voice, but were unsuccessful.

He asserted that Pakistan's economic development depended on the resources of Balochistan, and particularly the revenue from Sui gas played a vital role in the progress of the country, and he regretted that usurpers have not provided basic amenities to the Baloch people.
