PPP calls for judicial probe

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, June 18: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) divisional coordinator Dr Hayatullah Durrani has demanded a judicial probe into the murder of Munawwar Suhrawardy.

Speaking at a press conference held at the press club on Friday, he alleged that the murder of the PPP leader was a target killing and was meant to harass party members.

He said that Munawwar Suhrawardy was a peaceful party member and his murder indicated that the government and political opponents of the Pakistan People's Party were trying to push the party to resort to violence.

Mr Durrani claimed that the Pakistan People's Party led by Benazir Bhutto enjoyed the support of the people and the party leadership believed in democracy.

He demanded that the government should hold impartial and independent probe into the murder of Munawwar Suhrawardy to expose the killers.
