KARACHI, June 12: Jehangir Rashid maintained his winning streak to reach the final of the Boys Under-15 Second Caltex Open Sindh Tennis ranking, when he toppled second seed Nasir Mushtaq 7-6, 6-3, at the Karachi Club hardcourts on Saturday.

Playing fabulous tennis, Jehangir made his talented opponent run all over the court with some good ground strokes and deft placings close to the net. Nasir favourite to win this encounter was indeed a tired youngster going down 7-6, 6-3, but this should not take away the praise lauded for Jehangir's performance.

Top seed Nomi Qamar reached the final of the Men's singles, beating left-hander Saif Noor Sumar 6-1, 6-1. He will now meet second seed Khalid Ali Nazar, who accounted for third seed Adnan Khan in three gruelling sets. Earlier in the quarter-finals Saif was engaged in a fierce tussle with Asim Jawed. Asim playing attacking tennis was leading 6-4 and serving for the match at 5-3. Saif not giving up in a hurry broke Asim's service for the first time in the match, held his own to level the scores 5-5. He then went on to win the set 7-5 and never looking grabbed the final set also at 6-3.

Zohair Raza won the Boys under-11 final after a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Zarrukh Baig.

In the under-17 event Ghulam Abbas beat Mateen Arif 6-2, 6-2 in the quarters, but went down to Yasir Khan 6-1, 6-1 in the semifinal.

Yasir will now take on Danish Ahmed in the final after his 6-3, 6-4 victory over Haris Iltifat.

Ghulam Abbas however reached the final of the Under-13 event, beating Amir Darvesh 6-2, 6-2. He will now meet Mustafa Jamali in Sunday morning's final. Mustafa losing the first set, came back strongly in the next two to hold off a spirited fightback by Zubair Raza 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

In a very ill tempered Veteran doubles final, Sohail Kiani and Humayun Zafar proved too good for Col. Asif Dar and Gul Hameed 6-1, 6-3.

Men's singles (semi-finals) Nomi Qamar beat Saif Noor Sumar 6-1, 6-1. Khalid Ali Nazar beat Adnan Khan 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.

Boy's under 17 (semi-finals): Danish Ahmed beat Haris Iltifat 6-3, 6-4. Yasir Khan beat Ghulam Abbas 6-1, 6-1.

Boys under-15 (semi-final): Jehangir Rashid beat Nasir Mushtaq 7-6, 6-3.

Boys under-13 (semi-finals) Ghulam Abbas beat Amir Darvesh 6-2, 6-2. Mustafa Jamali beat Zubair Raza 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Boys under-11 (final) Zohair Raza beat Zarrukh Baig 6-0, 6-0.

Veterans doubles (final): Sohail Kiani & Humayun Zafar beat Col. Asif Dar and Gul Hameed 6-1, 6-3.
