SIALKOT: Child recovered

Correspondent

SIALKOT, June 12: Police have recovered a six-year-old nursery class student kidnapped for ransom from Gojra on June 10, DPO Nasir Ahmad Sorroya told newsmen here on Saturday.

The kidnappers had demanded Rs2 million from the parents.

The DPO said the child, Adeeb Khalil, and his sister, Amina, residents of Thatta Lakhi, were going home from school when the incident happened.

Adeeb was kidnapped by four man and a woman travelling in a car near the Gojra graveyard, the DPO quoted Amina as having told her parents on reaching home.

A police team succeeded in recovering the child and arresting two of the accused, Nabila alias Billo of Mohallah Shah Hussan (Gujrat) and Shaukat Ali alias Shaki of Begowala. The vehicle used to kidnap the child was also seized along with illicit arms.

Those arrested identified the remaining accused during interrogation and raids were being conducted to arrest them. They had taken the child to a dera at Chenab Bella but later brought him to a house in Begowala, the DPO said.
