RAWALPINDI: Two military accounts officials sent to jail

RAWALPINDI, June 9: The accountability court No. 3 on Wednesday sent two officials of the Central Military Accounts (CMA) on judicial remand in an embezzlement reference.

The judge, Mohammad Aslam, sent the CMA officials - Mohammad Iftikhar and Mohammad Javid - on judicial remand after the completion of their physical remand. Both the officials are facing charges of embezzling more than Rs3 billion through fake cheques.

Meanwhile, during the trial of a corruption reference against the former head of National Training Bureau (NTB), Sher Akbar, a co-accused, Asad Bin-i-Zafar, became an approver.

However, the accountability court No. 4 judge, Mazhar Hussain Minhas, could not complete the cross questioning in the case due lack of time and adjourned the case hearing till June 11.
