FIFA to settle PFF dispute

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, May 31: FIFA, The world football governing body, is to intervene in a dispute between the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) and the designer of the Goal Project over a meagre amount of US$ 6,000.

The designer Haleem Khan, based in Karachi, prepared the first design of the project, awarded by FIFA to PFF for which he charged $6,000 as fees and FIFA gave its approval over the design.

But PFF later decided to reject that design in order to further expand the constructing areas of the project. However, PFF took a surprise decision forcing Haleem to return the money, because it was going to have another design.

Haleem resisted but he had to return the money. However, Haleem lodged a complaint to FIFA in this connection. On FIFA's instructions, PFF returned the amount to Haleem.

Meanwhile, the game's governing body has approved the new design of the Football House and is sending its representative to Pakistan on June 6 to finalise further details about the project. FIFA is giving $400,000 to PFF for the Football House.
