SAHIWAL, May 31: Three bogies of 16-down night coach derailed near Chichawatni on Sunday night as a result Karachi-to-Lahore and Lahore-to-Quetta rail traffic remained suspended for around six hours.

No casualty was reported. After the repair of the track, the traffic was restored at 0225 hours on Monday. The Railways authorities have ordered inquiry into the incident.

PRE-ARREST BAIL: Additional District and Sessions Judge Waseem Akhtar on Monday granted pre-arrest bail to two accused in a kidnap case. He ordered the police to produce the record on June 9.

Reports said Rana Abdul Hakeem, Rana Sarwar and 10 others had kidnapped a teacher of the Government Girls High School, Tariq bin Ziad Colony. Police had registered the case under Section 365 of the PPC against Abdul Hakim and Sarwar. Meanwhile, female teachers staged a protest demonstration against the abduction of their colleague.

MMA LEADER: MMA Deputy Secretary-General Liaquat Baloch has expressed concern over the murder of Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai in Karachi. Talking to newsmen at the residence of Sheikh Shahid Hamid on Monday, he said the incidence of terrorism in Karachi had risen to an alarming proportion.

The MMA leader said the Sindh government had failed to maintain law and order and demanded removal of the Sindh governor.
