AJK hockey from June 1

MUZAFFARABAD, May 21: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) hockey championship will be organized from June 1 to 10 at Sabir Shaheed Stadium, Rawalakot.

AJK Hockey Association said on Friday the tournament would be played on single league basis. It would be participated by eight teams including seven from AJK and one of AJK Police. All-Pakistan Sardar Ibrahim Khan hockey tournament would be held also in Rawalakot from Aug 21 to 31.

AJKHA secretary Farooq Ashraf told a news conference that Pakistan Hockey Federation had provided funds for laying an Astroturf in Rawalakot, but the piece of land had to be arranged by the AJK government.

The official said AJKHA recently hosted a national level tournament which was participated by eight teams.
