MIRPURKHAS, May 5: Police foiled a bid to kidnap of two persons and arrested four armed outlaws on the Mirpurkhas-Umerkot road here on Tuesday. Shafi Mohammad Maher and Mohammad Hashim Maher were kidnapped from the Ring Road by Yar Mohammad Baloch, Qadir Bux alias Qadro Makrani, Khan Mohammad Unnar and an unidentified man in a car while they were on their way after cancellation of their bail by a local court.

On receiving information, the Mirpurkhas police chased the kidnappers and nabbed them on the Mirpurkhas-Umerkot road. The kidnap victims were released.

INJURED: A woman, Jannat, 60, wife of Abdul Majeed, was injured in aerial firing in an engagement ceremony in Khad Plot, Gharibabad, here on Monday night. She was taken to the Mirpurkhas Civil Hospital and later referred to a Hyderabad hospital.

SHOT DEAD: A Malh wrestler, Sanjar Shar, was shot dead by some persons on the Pithoro Bachao Band Road, Shadi Palli police station jurisdiction, on Monday.

About two hundred people of the Shar community held a protest demonstration in Bachao Band and blocked the Umerkot-Mirwah road after the incident. Amb Khan Shar lodged a case at the Shadi Palli police station against five Sachal Mangrio, Usman Mangrio, Manjhi Mangrio, Juma Ghelro and Gullu Khoso.
