ISLAMABAD, May 2: Former prime minister and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairperson Benazir Bhutto has said the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought a message of peace, love, compassion and humanity.

In her message on the auspicious eve of Eid Miladun Nabi she greeted the people and prayed for guidance to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him). "The Holy Prophet taught us to fight against tyranny, injustice and oppression.

The need for imbibing all these virtues is as great today as it was at anytime before. Let us, therefore, bow our heads in reference to allow the clear light of his teachings illumine our path and transform our lives.

"Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was sent by Allah to the entire mankind indeed for the entire universe. That is why he was given the title of Rahmantulil-Aalamin, the benefactor of the entire universe.

"On this auspicious day, I send my greetings to every one particularly to the Muslims throughout the world and in Pakistan. "I also pray that Allah give us the wisdom and guide us on the path to dedicate ourselves to the teachings of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) and rekindle our souls with the light lit by him".

NAWAZ SHARIF: Exiled premier and Quaid of Pakistan Muslim League, Nawaz Sharif, has also greeted the people of Pakistan on the birth anniversary of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), urging the nation to celebrate the happy occasion with a pledge to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet in letter and spirit.

"For several past years the Muslim all over the world have been celebrating the Eid Miladun Nabi at a time when the Ummah is passing through one of the most difficult phases of its history.

"Islam, the religion of peace and universal brotherhood, is under attack of false and misleading propaganda. The enemies of Islam have joined hands in a campaign of terror against helpless Muslim men, women and children in several countries, including Kashmir, India, Palestine and Iraq.

"Pakistan also faces grave difficulties internally; an unconstitutional government has yielded to the pressures from so- called friends to deviate from traditional position on future of Jammu and Kashmir; the nation suffers back-breaking economic hardships; political instability has further worsened as the establishment of an 'unconstitutional' National Security Council has reinforced dominance of the armed forces over democratic institutions, which has shaken the people's confidence in their destiny.

"Pakistan Muslim League, which made creation of Pakistan possible, is the most capable party to lead the nation out of this quagmire."
