US army chief calls on President

ISLAMABAD, March 30: President General Pervez Musharraf recalled the excellent ties that existed between the Armed Forces of Pakistan and the United States. President Musharraf was talking to Gen Peter Schoomaker, Chief of Staff, United States Army currently on an official visit to Pakistan , who called on him here on Tuesday.

The president wished Gen Schoomaker a pleasant and professionally rewarding stay in the country. He expressed the hope that the US general's visit would help to further strengthen the excellent relations between the armies of the two countries.

They also exchanged views on the prevailing international and regional geo-strategic situation. Gen Schoomaker thanked the president and Pakistan Army for the hospitality being extended to him and members of the delegation. He termed his interaction with the military leadership in Pakistan as excellent.
