KARACHI, March 23: The Pakistan People's Party on Tuesday strongly condemned unannounced load sheddings in Sindh, including Karachi, and termed the government silence over the issue deplorable.

PPP MPAs Ghulam Chandio, Rafiq Engineer and Dr Saleem said in their press statement that unannounced load sheddings in the province had made life miserable for the masses.

"The administrations of the KESC and Wapda are even shy of talking on the issue of load shedding," they said, adding that both administrations had been assuring the masses for four years that load sheddings would be stopped next year, but people had constantly been facing unscheduled load sheddings.

Power failures were badly affecting economic and business activities in the province, besides causing great hardships to the people in their homes, they said and demanded of the government to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all parts of the province. -PPI
