Hashmi's trial adjourned

ISLAMABAD, Feb 28: Sessions Judge Chaudhry Asad Raza on Saturday adjourned the hearing against Makhdoom Javed Hashmi to March 6, as his counsels were not ready to cross- examine the witnesses in the case.

The trial started in Adiala Jail on Saturday and Inspector Shaukat Ali from FIA and Aamir Saleem Rana Civil Judge, the two witnesses of the prosecution, were present in the court but the counsels of Javed Hashmi were not ready to cross-examine them.

Special Public Prosecutor Munir Ahmed Bhatti opposed the intention of recalling the witnesses by the counsels of Makhdoom Javed Hashmi to another date and argued that his lawyers are intentionally using delaying tactics in the trial.

The court will decide the request of the counsels of Makhdoom Javed Hashmi on March 3 regarding recalling the witnesses in the case while regular hearing will start on March 6.-APP
