KARACHI: Woman found dead

KARACHI, Feb 28: The body of a woman was found near an eating house on the Super Highway on Saturday. Police said the body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy, where its identity could not be established immediately. The police believed the woman, in her late 20s, was subjected to torture and thereafter she was strangled, as a noose around her neck was also found. Her body was dumped at an isolated place behind Chakar eating house off Super Highway, the police added.

The body was later kept at Edhi morgue at Sohrab Goth for identification.

ACCIDENT: A two-year-old girl died after she came under the wheels of a truck in a shanty town in Boating Basin police limits. The police said that Nihal was playing outside her home in a shanty town - Shah Rasool Colony - when a truck hit her. She died on the spot. Area people gathered at the spot and beat the driver. Later, they handed him over to the police. The police registered a case, arrested the driver, Riasat and impounded the truck.

DIES: A young girl died of poisoning in Orangi Town on Saturday. Police said that Nausheen, 18, and Rizwana, 16, residents of Pakistan Bazaar in Orangi Town, drank a glass of milk on late Friday night. When they did not wake up, their family took them to the CHK, where Nausheen was declared dead on arrival. The condition of Rizwana is stated to be serious. The police were investigating the incident.
