MANSEHRA, Feb 23: The district government has banned the entry of 28 religious leaders of various schools of thought in Mansehra district.

The banned leaders include: Syed Ejaz Hussain Kazimi (Sargodha), Maulana Abdul Majeed Nadeem (Multan), Masood Rana (Chakwal), Maulana Laquman Alpuri (Muzaffargarh), Syed Qamar Haider Naveed Saddiqui (Rawalpindi), Syed Raza Hussain Shah (Rawalpindi), Maulana Abdul Hayat Abid (Lahori), Syed Raza Shah Naqvi (Rawalpindi), Qari Muhammad Aslam (Peshawar), Maulana Abdul Majeed Jazarvi (Rawalpindi), Syed Charagh Did Shah (Rawalpindi), Syed Kafiat Hussain Naqvi (Azad Kashmir), Syed Awais Haider (Karachi), Syed Mazhar Ali Shah (Karachi), Dr Hussain Raza Tarabi (Haripur), Shafaqat Muhammad (Gujrat), Maulana Ali Sher Haideri, Allama Masoodur Rehman Usmani, Khalifa Abdul Qayyum (D.I. Khan), Maulana Altaf-ur-Rehman Khayal (Abbottabad), Maulana Akthar Ali Shah Bukhara Masjid (Abbottabad), Maulana Muhammad Siddique (Abbottabad), Muhammad Akbar Shah (Abbottabad), Ghulam Mustafa Khan Jadoon (Abbottabad), Muhammad Nawaz Khan Jadoon (Abbottabad), Maulana Abdul Malak (Haripur), Qari Hafeez-ur-Rehman and Maulana Gulfam (Lahore).

The ban has been imposed with immediate effect and will remain enforced till the end of Muharram. Violators of the ban would be dealt strictly under Section 188 of Cr.P.C.-APP

RANSOM: Two jewellers of Mansehra were kidnapped for ransom from Abbottabad when they were on their way to the Ayub Hospital Complex five days ago, our correspondent adds.

Family members of Shujahat Ali, owner of the National Jewellers in Kashmiri Bazaar, and M. Saleem Saraf are tightlipped about the kidnapping. Sources said the car of Mr Saraf had been recovered by the police near Nawansher in Abbottabad.

The kidnappers, according to the sources, are demanding Rs13 million for the release of Mr Ali and gold for the release of Mr Saraf. It is believed that the people who kidnapped last year Dr Binyamin, a senior medical officer of the Mansehra district headquarters hospital, and released his allegedly after receiving ransom, are involved in the incident.
