ISLAMABAD Feb 21: The organising committee for the unification of the five PMLs plus the Imtiaz Sheikh faction of Sindh Democratic Alliance (SDA) will meet in Lahore on Sunday to sort out legal and technical issues hindering completion of the unification process, party sources said.
The meeting, to be presided over by PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, will be attended by leaders of all factions - Ijazul Haq, Hamid Nasir Chattha, Mian Manzoor Watto, Sultan Mohammad Khan, Tariq Azeem and Salim Saifullah.
Senator S.M.Zafar, the legal adviser to the organizing committee, will brief the meeting about the removal of legal lacunas in the way of unification.
According to PML-Q information secretary senator Tariq Azeem, the leaders of all the six parties (5 PML factions and SDA) were keen on completion of the unification process and were also eager to ensure that the process was completed early and announced latest by March 23 next.
Senator Zafar, who could not attend Wednesday's meeting, has prepared his recommendations which he will present before the organising committee meeting.
Mr Zafar told Dawn by telephone thatremoval of suffixes from party factions was the first requirement and there would be no delay on that account.
