ISLAMABAD, Feb 20: The Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) will work together to make Model Universities Ordinance (MUO) and Tenure Track System (TTS) acceptable to teachers.

This was decided in a meeting between the executive committee of the federation and HEC chairman Dr Attaur Rehman here on Friday. According to a press release issued by the federation, the executive committee, led by Dr Ifikhar Hussain Baloch, held a two-hour meeting with the HEC chairman.

The two sides decided to meet again on February 29 to finalize the recommendations made by the federation to the HEC regarding MUO and TTS, which had been rejected by the university teachers.

Those who participated in the meeting included Dr Mehr Saeed Akhtar, the federation secretary, Dr Sohail Barkati, Sarwar Nasim, Dr Arbab Khan Afridi, Dr Abdul Rauf Sheikh and Dr Dushka Syed.
